After-Life Process

Texas Process (Legally)

(Every state process is different)

  • Death certificate must be filed within 10 days

  • Cremation requires a 48-hour wait, unless waived

  • Embalming NOT required unless public viewing

  • Burial allowed on private land (with rules)

  • Burial must occur in a recognized cemetery unless rural private land is approved
