After-Life Process

Florida Process (Legally)

(Every state process is different)

  • Death certificate filed within 5 days

  • Cremation requires 24–48-hour wait

  • Embalming required if body is shipped by airplane

  • Bodies must be refrigerated if no embalming after 24 hours

  • ​Beach releases allowed with permits

  • Many cemeteries are flood-zone regulated → burial vault required
